Kaushal Gianchandani
Postdoc Work Email: kaushalg@mit.eduKaushal’s research is centered around better understanding the ocean’s role in Earth’s (past and current) climate system and applying this knowledge to celestial bodies that may potentially have oceans. Currently, he is examining the ocean’s circulation on ice-covered moons in our solar system, e.g. Europa and Enceladus.

John Marshall
Professor of Oceanography Work Email: jmarsh@mit.eduJohn is interested in the general circulation of the atmosphere and oceans, and particularly the role of the ocean in climate and its variability.
Jeffrey Scott
Research Scientist Work Email: jscott@mit.eduJeff is interested in understanding the role of the ocean in global change change, using a hierarchy of ocean-only and coupled earth system models. Recent work has focused on passive heat uptake versus active ocean circulation changes in a warming world.
Yixiao Zhang
Graduate StudentYixiao is interested in using knowledge of fluid dynamics to help us understand the climate of the Earth and other planets and moons.
